The Crowfield Curse by Pat Walsh

ccwalshWe are in the winter of 1347, Crowfield Abbey, a Monastery in England. Since the death of his family in a fire, 14-year-old William has lived at Crowfield Abbey as a servant. One day he happened upon a Hobgoblin whose leg was trapped in the woods. Will brought the Hob back to the monastery in hope that Brother Snail would agree to heal him. This ‘hob’ brings with it a mystery of an angel and reveals that the woods are a lot more dangerous than most people think…

While the Hob stays at Crowfield Abbey to heal his leg, rare visitors arrive at the abbey: Jacobus Bone and his servant, Shadlok. They are seeking something to do with an old legend that an angel was once killed near the abbey; a feather from the angel’s wing is preserved as a holy relic there.

What is the curse? What powerful force or being were able to kill an angel? Piece by piece, Will manages to put the puzzle together and discovers the angel’s body. However, the story is far from over…
